FOLLOW OUR EXPERTS' ADVICE How to take care of your hands and nails?
After reading this guide, you'll know:

- Moisturize and care for your hands
- Perfect nail care
- Choose natural products that are good for your skin

Wash your hands well and moisturize them regularly
Taking care of your hands means adopting good habits on a daily basis. Always use a natural cleanser when washing your hands. It will prevent dehydration of your hands and nails. Also remember to moisturize your hands regularly. They are constantly exposed to external aggression, and the skin barrier is often weakened because the skin on your hands is so thin. So opt for an appropriate, natural cream.
Taking good care of your nails
Moisturize your nails
Nails, like hands, can become dehydrated and break more easily.Moisturizing your nails is essential for a perfect manicure. You can apply Charlotte Bio cream directly to your nails. It has been specially formulated to provide the necessary hydration not only for your hands, but also for your nails.
A complete manicure
Start by gently removing make-up from your nails. We say ciao! to the little residues of the old manicure that we left there on the edge because "it won't show, it'll go away by itself" ...
For this, opt for a natural nail polish remover rather than acetone, which is far too harsh on your nails. Just as effective as a conventional nail polish remover,Charlotte Bio's natural nail polish remover(bio-sourced, vegan & made in France, what more could you ask for?) will remove make-up without damaging your nails.
Come on, let's make one more effort for a perfect manicure... There are 4 steps left:
Once your nails are makeup-free, apply a base coat. Apply thefirst coat of your polish, once you've chosen your favorite color... We understand that choosing from among our 18 shades can be complicated, but we trust you 💅Apply a second coat of polish. Here again, the aim is for your manicure to last as long as possible. You might as well give yourself every chance.
For a less intense effect, you can apply just one coat! Finish with a coat of top coat to enhance your manicure! It will protect your nail polish from potential knocks and shine.
Here's a little tip: to keep the momentum going (ecologically and naturally), opt for nail polishes that are vegan and made from natural ingredients. They'll take good care of your nails and make them look beautiful at the same time.
File your nails
To shorten your nails gently, we recommendusing a nailfile rather than nail clippers. A file is much gentler and more respectful of your nail fiber. Avoid filing back and forth. It's best to start at one edge of the nail and work back towards the center , depending on the shape you've chosen.
Repeat until the desired effect is achieved.
When should you moisturize your hands?
We'd like to say all the time, but that's not the right answer! At Charlotte Bio, moisturizing is very important. Dehydrated skin is not necessarily healthy skin. We therefore advise you to moisturize your skin morning and night.
Drinking water regularly also contributes to beautiful skin, so grab your water bottles!

File nails according to desired shape
How do I file my square nails?
To obtain a square-shaped nail, file mainly the edges of the nail to form two straight lines. Finish by filing the tip of the nail until it lines up with both sides. Your nail is now perfectly square.
How do I file my round nails?
For round nails, file in a circular arc. Start at one end of the nail and work your way to the other using a circular motion.
How do I file my short nails?
If you have short nails, don 't file your nail too many times. Too many file strokes could damage your nail. Make sure you place the file on the outer corner of the nail, then slide it gently into the center.

File your nails according to their nature
How do I file my brittle nails?
The longer your nails are, the more brittle and fragile they become. Always file your nails in the same direction. From left to right or vice versa, but never back and forth. Your nails could split and become even more brittle. Choose a cardboard nail file, which is much less abrasive than metal or glass nail files.
How do I file my soft nails?
As with brittle nails, a soft nail is a nail that will become brittle if you don't take care of it. Take good care of your nails right from the root. A nail needs to be moisturized to be healthy and grow normally. If these gestures really aren't enough (which can happen to people with sweaty hands, who will have softer-than-normal nails), you can also use a hardener. Make sure, however, that the hardener you use is natural and will not affect the health of your nails.
We apologize in advance to those of you with long nails, but this latest tip may not be to your liking... To avoid breakage, there's nothing better than cutting your nails short. They'll grow back stronger if you follow our advice.
A natural manicure: Team Charlotte's tips
Achieving a natural manicure may seem simple, but there are a few steps that should not be overlooked. First, make sure you 've removed all residues from your old manicure. File and moisturize your nails. And don't forget tomoisturize your cuticles, which, if not properly cared for, can quickly neglect your manicure and prevent the desired natural effect.
For a super-natural effect, finish with a base coat for a more matte effect. If you still want your girlfriend, colleague or cousin to say "waaaw, your manicure's so beautiful", opt for a top coat that will make your nails shine.

Questions about hand and nail care? Our team has the answers!
Should I remove my nails before applying polish?
Yes, it's essential to remove make-up from your nails. Nail polish spreadsmuch more easilyon a clean, makeup-free nail. A poorly cleaned nail can compromise the rest of your manicure.
Is a top coat mandatory for a manicure?
No, it's not compulsory either. The top coat has more of an aesthetic function than a protective one. It makes your nails shine, bringing out the pretty color of the polish. It also helps protect your manicure from little bumps (you know, the little bump that happens just after you've finished your entire manicure 😭).
Is a base coat mandatory for a manicure?
Nothing is compulsory, rest assured! But we strongly advise you to use a base coat. It will have an impact on the durability of your manicure and the health of your nails. The base coat protects the nail from pigments that could yellow your nails, as well as from certain substances that could weaken them.
